Location & Arrival to Fez and Dar Aquas



Morocco is located in North Africa just 15 km from the southern coast of Spain. Fez is in the central north region of Saiss, with direct air links with Europe and excellent road and rail links with the rest of Morocco. Visitors from all EU countries, all Nordic countries, US, Canada, Australia, NZ, and the Arabian Gulf do not require a visa in advance, see full list here, they are issued with a 3 month tourist visa on arrival.

Dar Aquas is based in the centre of Fez old medina, where motorised vehicles are not allowed, however the house is only 5 minutes walk from Rcif Square. A map of Rcif / Central Medina area here, telephone us before you arrive we will meet you at the Rcif gate.


Arriving / Getting to Fez & Dar Aquas

By Air
Fez Saiss airport is 15km from the city centre. Airlines currently flying direct to Fez include Ryanair, Royal Air Maroc, Jetairfly, Transavia, Air Arabia, Easyjet. see below for air routes. We can arrange a taxi pick-up from the airport.  The price is 150 dirham for up to 3 persons.   Please contact us for prices of a larger group.

By Train
Fez Train station is in the Ville Nouvelle, it has connections with Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Nador & Oujda. Train Schedules are available here at the Moroccan Railways website. A taxi pick-up from the train station can be arranged at a cost of 100 dirham. However, the cheapest way of getting to Dar Aquas is to take a red 'petit taxi' to Rcif (pronounced  Re-sif) that will cost about 20 dhm (50% surcharge after 8pm).  Telephone us beforehand and we can then meet you in Rcif, from where it is a 5 minute walk to Dar Aquas.   For guests with larger amounts of luggage a trolley man can be hired at a cost of about 15/20 dirham.

By Bus
There are 2 main coach stations in Fez.  The main Gare Routiere is just outside the medina near Bab Boujloud.  The other is the station of the CTM Coach company which is in the Atlas district of the Ville Nouvelle, the CTM site has schedule and fare information.  To get to Dar Aquas from either of these, just get one of the 'red petit taxis' to Rcif (pronounced  Re-sif), where we will meet you to take you on the 5 minute walk to Dar Aquas.

North America Royal Air Maroc currently fly direct from New York to Casablanca. Some travellers find it easier to fly to Europe and get a direct connection from there to Fez.
